Getting started

On the TaskBullet for Basecamp page, see how TaskBullet appears in Assign. Start the same free trial as everyone else — 10 hours, no credit card. That creates your company account.

The Basecamp integrations directory only opens our site. Nothing is installed in Basecamp until you connect (step 3).

Sign in with the same work email you used for the trial (magic link or Google with that address). A different Google account creates a different company and will not see your trial hours. Your account already has hours so Assign can go live. When hours run low, buy normal packages and keep going — plus book a welcome call and use the dashboard AI to plan work.

In TaskBullet Settings → Basecamp Assign, click Connect Basecamp. You will see Basecamp / 37signals Launchpad and authorize TaskBullet. We use OAuth — we never see your Basecamp password.

Only a Basecamp admin (or account owner) should connect. If you are not an admin, ask yours to complete this step on the TaskBullet account your company will use.

After you approve access you return to TaskBullet Settings. Connecting alone does not put TaskBullet under Assign in Basecamp — finish step 4 here first. If you stay in Basecamp looking for TaskBullet, you will not find it yet.

Stay on TaskBullet Settings after OAuth. Choose which Basecamp projects get TaskBullet. We add the shared team person TaskBullet only on those projects, and register webhooks so assignments reach us. This is the moment Assign becomes available in Basecamp.

Brand-new Basecamp accounts often have zero projects. Create one in Basecamp first, then click Refresh projects on TaskBullet, check it, and Save.

If save is blocked, return to step 2 — hours are still required.

Open an enabled project in Basecamp → create or open a todo → Assign → choose TaskBullet (search the name if your people list is long).

You should see a comment when we receive it. Two places, one request: that Basecamp todo is your intake record; delivery happens in TaskBullet’s team workspace and on your dashboard (VA / account manager owns the handoff — not the person who clicked Assign).
